Karl Holmqvist
The pictures above are from Venice. I didn’t realise he is works a lot through text and communication. Then I came across him again in a book I’m reading called Performa by Roselee Goldberg. He did a piece called ‘Love Songs’ between 2002 and 2005.
Visitors were invited to choose their favorite song from the Magnetic Fields’ 69 Love songs and to write it down on a pad, along with their cell phone number. Swedish Artist, Karl Holmqvist, would later call and deliver an intimate reading of the chosen song’s lyrics.
(Excuse the awful vignetting on the photos. But it’s really inexcusable.)
