Alan Clarke’s Elephant is apparently an influence on Steve McQueen’s Hunger, but more noticeably, Gus Van Sant’s film of the same name is an out and out homage.

Like Van Sant’s film, Clarke’s Elephant consists of protracted steadicam shots following people around before they shoot people and/or get shot and… well, that’s it…

Evidently has something to do with the Troubles, but is purely academic and the opposite of a pleasure to watch. Enjoy.
