~ Vane - John Oswald

Found Plunderphonics by John Oswald in the library. It’s a sublime album of audio collage / cut up technique and mashups. I pissed myself laughing when I heard this. It’s Carley Simon mixed with Faster Pussycat, so it almost becomes a duet. So weird, so amazing.

Daphne Oram - Lego Builds it

I’ve recently become obsessed with Daphne. A lot of her stuff sounds so contemporary. Love this piece because of the refrain.  She’s another classically trained musician who went to work for radio and then created some pretty fab sounds with all the new technology.

Here’s some images of the current exhibition at the gallery I intern at, The Or Gallery. The gallery itself is totally right-on and artist ran. They have a focus on publishing and distributing art books as well as exhibitions and have a satellite gallery in an apartment block in Berlin.

T@LBOT ST.2012A performance regarding the interaction and manipulation of CCTV
Images were captured live using the iPad application ‘Ispy Cameras’ An app which allows you to view and control thousands of public video cameras from around the world in real time.
This is a web cam directed at the entrance of O’Sheas hotel mounted above a call shop on Talbot St. This was the stage to my fellow peers who I invited to watch as I attempted to interact with people and the area itself. The watchers were comfortably at their studios in college as they observed. I allowed the voyeurs to command my actions by telephone and listen in on conversations.
From where I stood I counted 16 cameras surrounding me, of these, There was just one which I knew had numerous eyes watching behind it
